Buprenorphine.
Indications
- Post-operative analgesia in dogs and cats.
- Potentiation of the sedative effects of centrally-acting agents in dogs.
Dosage and route of administration
Dogs:
Post-operative analgesia: 0.03-0.06 ml Buprelab per kg b.w. IM or IV. Repeat if necessary after 3-4 hours with 0.03 ml Buprelab per kg b.w. or after 5-6 hours with 0.06 ml Buprelab per kg b.w. Potentiation of sedation: 0.03-0.06 ml Buprelab per kg b.w. IM or IV.
Cats:
Post-operative analgesia: 0.03-0.06 ml Buprelab per kg b.w. IM or IV. Repeat if necessary after 1-2 hours.
Use during gestation or lactation
This veterinary medicine shall not be used pre-operatively for Caesarean section due to risk of respiratory depression.
Not recommended for use during lactation.
Use only in accordance with the benefit/risk assessment by the treating veterinarian.
